WORKSHOPS 2010:

SOLD OUT!TIME-LIMITED COUNSELLING 5.5 Hours of CPD Awarded

This workshop provides an introduction to the theory and practice of Time-Limited Counselling and Psychotherapy. The day combines theoretical input and experiential work. We will be examining:
- The merits or otherwise of time-limited approaches versus longer-term work.
- Working with the concepts of the Triangle of Conflict and Triangle of Person.
- Our understanding of Transference, Counter-transference and psychodynamic defences.
- Client assessment and contracting for time-limited work.

Like time-limited counselling itself, the workshop aims to make best use of a limited known number of hours contained within a firm time boundary. Where possible, participants will be able to present their work with clients for discussion in the group.

Presented By: Peter Lowis, MA, DipPsychotherapy, DipSupervision, MBACP (Accred), UKCP Reg. Peter trained as an integrative psychotherapist at The Minster Centre in London. For a number of years, he trained and supervised counsellors at ChildLine. Subsequently, he held senior practitioner and managerial roles at a young people’s counselling agency in East London. Peter now works as a counsellor in an NHS psychological therapies service and as a tutor on BACP-accredited training courses. He is also an experienced supervisor of time-limited work.
