Barnet Community Counselling has been a registered charity since 1993 and is primarily run by volunteers. We provide low cost counselling to those in the community who would otherwise not have access to help. For this reason membership is only offered to those who have completed their training or are in their final year and have significant client experience. These applicants attend for interview and submit references that are always taken up. We offer four training sessions per year and an hour of BCC supervision per month both of which are compulsory. All new members are expected to remain with BCC for a minimum of two years. All our counsellors are C.R.B. checked. Barnet Community Counselling as an organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), we are bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.
