Barnet Community Counselling

Barnet Community Counselling is a group of Volunteer Counsellors and Psychotherapists who are committed to helping people of all ages who live or work in the London Borough of Barnet and surrounding areas.

WHAT IS COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
Counselling and/or therapy are ways of exploring feelings and overcoming emotional difficulties in a safe and confidential setting. We are experienced at helping those who are faced with personal problems and who feel unable to cope alone.

These issues may include:

Living through family break-up

Feeling let down by people close to you

Discovering sexuality

Meeting other people's expectations

Not being able to find work or losing your job

Bereavement and loss

Young People

Life transitions

Relationship difficulties

Change of life

Retirement

Counselling is a way of exploring feelings and overcoming these emotional difficulties in a safe and confidential setting. Surprisingly, it's much easier to talk to someone you don't know - someone who is experienced in listening.

WHAT WILL IT COST?
The service is a voluntary one and although some clients, depending on circumstances, are unable to contribute, we do ask our clients, when possible, to contribute what they can reasonably afford. The level of contribution made by clients is negotiable according to personal circumstances and income.

OUR LOCATION
We offer counselling and therapy in North London, including: Barnet, Finchley, Mill Hill,Whetstone,Totteridge, Edgeware, Hampstead Southgate and many other areas. Our service is open to any person, male or female, of any age, sexuality, ethnic origin, culture or religion living or working in the catchment area. Our primary one to one counselling practice is situated in North Finchley (Tally Ho).

In addition to our primary location, many of our counsellors also prastice from a variety of additional locations in the Borough such as: Mill Hill, Southgate, Woodside Park, Golders Green, Barnet, Edgware, Finchley, North Finchley, East Finchley, Finchley Central, Whetstone and Muswell Hill. Most of these locations have easy access to public transport.
